WARM JETS -CONCERT AT THE CONTINENTAL, JULY 19, 2001

BACK

As a long time Ramones-fan and friend of CJ Ramone's, I am always excited to hear CJ's new projects. When I heard his new band The Warm Jets were playing at The Continental in NYC, I couldn't wait to see them. I was told their sound was along the lines of the hard rocking Los Gusanos, CJ's previous band, combined with a more punk rock edge. As I found out for myself that night, they definitely are and they kick ass. The Warm Jets mix pure rock n' roll with punk rock to produce a sound perfectly representative of CJ's style and background. With CJ on bass and vocals, John and Brian on guitars and Mark on drums, the band knocked out a set of of heart pounding tunes to the full room at The Continental. Songs such as "She Say's" and "Diabla", which can be found on the Warm Jets debut single, got the crowd riled up and asking for more.

The catchy lyrics and stripped down sounds make for a perfect rock n' roll marriage that kept the crowd rocking out for the entire show. No one stopped dancing until The Warm Jets finished their set with an energetic encore of the Misfits song "Attitude". I can definitely see The Warm Jets going far in the rock n' roll world with their new sounds, intense spirit and dedicated fans.
