Monte (Ramones tourmanager) was touring with Dee Dee on England and he said that trip to the UK was really big succesful.

****four star review by Ray Zell (Kerrang magazine)

The silver-haired geezer wades his way through the crowd in this tiny basement drinking haunt, towards a microphone and a stool. An hour earlier, upstairs at the Helter Skelter bookshop, he had a queue going round the corner for the signing of his autobiography 'Poison Heart: Surviving The Ramones'. Our man is Dee Dee, original bassist with the legendary New York band. But right now, he's about to strum out some punk classics on an acoustic guitar...

"53rd & 3rd", "Rockaway Beach", "Sheena" - Dee Dee plays all the stuff and more. And it's great. An experience. The whole deal turns into one big sing-along. Dee Dee also slides in The Heartbreakers 'Born to Lose'. " My friends all had "Born To Lose" tattoed on their arms", he announces, "but I was sneaky - I had 'Born To Win.'"

Dee Dee leaves. The crowd chants "Hey ho, let's go!" until he returns, at which point Dee Dee sits bemused, within inches of an over-enthusiastic mob, stabbing fingers in his direction, chanting "Gabba Gabba, we accept you. we accept you, one of us!" Poor bloke. He survived the Ramones for this?!?

(Thanks for Monte of sending this)
