The reason the Ramones are the best band can be answered in two sentences. #1. The Ramones saved rock and roll from certain doom. If you don't believe that, then just look back at the lousy music and over paid performers in the mid seventies. #2. The ramones also paved the road for most all the punk bands that fallowed. When I was growing up in the late '70's I listened to Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly etc because there was nothing new that out there.
