The special Johnny Ramone and Ramones outdoor event presented by
Johnny's wife Linda Ramone in association with the JRA (Johnny Ramone
Army), was held fifth time. This was in memory of Johnny Ramone on
Saturday October 3rd, 2009 at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los
Angeles, CA, USA.
PHOTOS FROM UPMOST TO DOWN:
1) Upper photo: Gene Frawley, Vincent Gallo and Ramones fan. Gene was
working for a long time with the Ramones, he was in charge of
security. He and Vincent
Gallo were both close friends with Johnny Ramone.
2) Ramones photos were shown before fans were listening and seeing parts
of It's Alive Ramones concert recorded at the Rainbow Theatre in
London on December 31, 1977. Also was shown rare ad of Rock And Roll
High School movie (actress PJ Soles aka Riff Randell attended this
event). Speaker was John Cafiero, who did an interview with Linda
Ramone and actress Rose McGowan
(Grindhouse, Jawbreaker, Fifty Dead Men Walking etc.). Also was shown
animated Wicked Game video of Cafiero's band Osaka Popstar.
3 and 4) Also was screened outdoors, after dark on a
24-foot mausoleum wall (as in Hollywood Forever's summer film program
Cinespia), the world premiere of the 1968 cult classic movie Night Of
The Living Dead in 3D. It was new high-def, colorized, 3D print of one
of Johnny Ramone's top 10 horror film favorites!
Night Of The Living Dead, originally shot in black and white over 40
years ago, was painstakingly restored, colorized and converted, frame by
frame into full 3D using PassmoreLab's proprietary technology. The
process, which took over 12 months to complete at a cost greater than
the film's original production budget, was no small feat.
Attendees of event got 3D glasses upon entering. You can see Maria
Montoya-Kaye and Nathaniel Kaye having 3D glasses. I had really
great time in LA with Maria and her husband David and Nathaniel. David
has David Kaye Books & Memorabilia store (address: 22745 Ventura Blvd.,
Woodland Hills, CA, U.S.A., 91364).
