ITALY:April 15, 2010 comes nine years when our Joey Ramone became an angel. Joey Ramone tribute night is at Rock N'Roll Bar in Rho (close of Milan), Italy on April 15, 2010. It is organised by bar, Rock Planet Production and Rock N'Roll Radio and they will do of this annual event, a night in a memory of the Ramones and Joey. Entrance is free.
That night at Rock N'Roll Bar will play Trz, Subgruppo Devasto and Baraonda. They will play own songs and Ramones covers. Before and after shows DJ Ruvido does DJ sets. Ruvido is a road manager of the Italian punk band Punkreas.
That night you has chance to buy cool Italian Ramones books. Maurizio "Nodus" Nodari is the co-president of the Italian Ramones Fan Club and in December, 2008, he released his first book titled Nodus Il Gruppo Dei Ramones (his E-mail and PayPal address is: nodus@tiscali.it). Also you can buy at the event Gabba Gabba Book!.
CHINA:
March 27, 2010.Gao Yang organised Ramones tribute show in Xi'an in China on March 27, 2010. Address/ club: Defu Road Jiuhoujiu club.
Ticket was 25 juans and 20 juans with "Ramones clothes".
Gao wrote afterwards: "About 300 people attended a show. Show was from 8PM to 11.30PM. The sound was so loud, that the resident who lives near the bar called the police. Last band covered almost ten Ramones songs, and they also sang Iggy Pop & The Stooges and Dead Boys, wrote Gao after the show."

- We will also be auctioning off some very special items. My friend Monte Melnick, the Ramones tour manager, has graciously sent me an original, very special, autographed photo of the Ramones. There will also be a painting of Joey done by a great young artist and a drawing of Joey done by me, tells Kimmi Ramone.

Arne-Johan Martinsen, Ivan Syversen and their friends are organising special Ramones tribute night called Real Cool Time at Bondernes Hus in Fredrikstad, Norway on October 4, 2008. Fredrikstad is just one hour drive on the highway south of Oslo.
- Name of the tribute band is Ramonesbandet. Thrond from The Squareheads will be singer. Thrond will play with some other extremely skilled musicians from Halden (probably the town in Norway with the highest density in Ramones fans). Guitarist is Petter Jensen, bassist is Lars-Ivar Borg and drummer is Fisken, explain Arne-Johan Martinsen.
Arne-Johan, Ivan and their friends asked me (Jari-Pekka Laitio-Ramone) to be guest in this great event. I will be there on October 4, 2008. They asked if I can do book signing, some DJ'ing etc. Also Ivan, Arne, Ulf Bendiksen etc. will be doing an DJ set's. Night will start at 19. Ramones tribute band Curse Of The Ramones does play 3 shows in July. First gig is at The Hoot Bar in Downpatrick on July 22, 2006 and second show at The Limelight in Belfast on July 23, 2006. They're also playing in a Ramones convention on the 29th July at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, UK. Here's a bit more of the Ramones Convention. There were three Ramones tribute bands and one an old punk band called The Vibrators. Marky Ramone was going to appear on event as well at first, but he had to cancel it. But the show went on. Curse Of The Ramones kicked of the show to a small crowd and they went down well doing about a 45 minute set. Then it was The PheRamones who wore wigs and pretended to be the Ramones. After that it was Havana-go-go from Birmingham, UK. The more the night went on the bigger the crowd got and then Curse Of The Ramones went on for their second set. The fans went wild. had a sold out show at Charlies Nightclub in London, England on 7th
February, 2006. Now they commemorate the King of Punk - Joey Ramone on his
55th birthday at Indra's on May 19, 2006. Hamburg Ramones is also
recorded song titled Birthday Bash. To celebrate this very special
event in style, Hamburg Ramones have invited Dortmund's glam rock pals,
The Schangels to appear with them live
on stage for this "one off" occasion.
Hamburg Ramones themselves will be joined by guitar legend Jenzzz G. of

There's going to be also another cool occasions in New York on May 19, 2006, on Joey's birthday. The Hungry March Band from Brooklyn, NYC is brass march band. The Hungry March Band is a community group with a membership as diverse as their music. Their musical repertoire consists of original compositions written by band members as well as scores selected from their multi-cultural world community. They can go with punk, Latin, hip hop, jazz... There's going to be in May 19 pilgrimage. It starts from Forest Hills High School (Rock And Roll High School...) at noon. It's ten-mile pilgrimage to the sacred spots in the Ramones legacy, ending at Tompkins Square Park at 8PM etc.
The Hungry March Band will join the procession in proper pilgrim-freak style, with a Joey giglio, self-flagellation and other saintly pursuits, and they lead the way. Then they're having a tribute to Joey Ramone at CBGBs Gallery, it's titled The Feast Of St. Joey. Also other bands are performing. There night begin at 8PM.

There was "first" tribute gig for Dee Dee by Phobics in June 21st, Midsummer Night Place - Fusilier and Firkin, 7-8 Chalk Farm Rd, Camden. Time - 8.00 - 12.00. But then in June 21 Phobics' bass player's amp blew up all four speakers at the same time!

Dee Dee and Joey Ramone memorial. From 8 - 10pm only Ramones and Dee Dee related music was played. After that, the jukebox was random. From 8 - 10pm there was an altar with candles (you got chance light) and pictures of the bruddas. From 8 - 9pm a couple Dee Dee and Joey solo CD's was given away to randomly selected people who sign in at the altar. etc. etc.

I (Jari-Pekka) had a release tour of my first book Heaven Needed A Lead Singer: Fans Remember Joey Ramone. June 1, 2002: Semifinal, Helsinki. Bands: Häiriköt and Rehtorit. Häiriköt played own set and Ramones-set with special guests Otto from Tehosekoitin and I. Night started 9.30 PM (21.30).
June 5: Club 25, Vaasa. Bands: Klamydia (Ramones-set) and Partavaahtokone.
June 6: Tampere, Klubi. Bands: Pojat ja Rehtorit. Before night started, I heard news about Dee Dee (RIP)...
Nights featured Gabba Hey, 1-2-3-4 and Hey Ho, Let's Go -rememberings and special surprises. etc.

Occasion started 8PM and people were remembering Joey. Organisators tried to get Ramones cover band, but couldn't find any in the end.

Shows for Joey. There was 10 bands on both days. April 12 played: Hats, Questions, Feijao Com Arroz, Los Toskos, Os Thompsons, Kolapso 77, Flicts, Grinders, Overlife Inc., Calibre 12 and Blind Pigs. April 13 played: Sapo Banjo, Underboyz, Bad Trip, Forgotten Boys, Mozzarelas, Os Excluidos, Lambrusco Kids, Nitrominds, Zumbis Do Espaco and Holly Tree. Tickets were 10$ in both days. The name of the shows were "um ano sem Joey Ramone", it means "A Year Without Joey Ramone.

Joey Ramone tribute night in a little art-club in Dusseldorf because of the memory one year after Joey died. DJanes Nadine and Sonja played songs from the Joey's album Don't Worry About Me, showed videos and photos etc.

Tribute to the Joey and The Ramones featured: Bruno Lopez (vocals) and Henry Lopez (drums) from Garage Lopez, J.B Beurk (bass) and Joe Beurk (played the Johnny Ramone Mosrite model guitar) performed many Ramones classics. Tribute was free and more than 300 people showed up.

Argentina's musicians paid their tribute to the master: There was a three piece band comprised of Mariano Martinez (Attaque 77) on guitar and vocals + Diego Techeyro (Katarro Vandaliko) on bass and chorus + Ray (El Otro Yo) on drums who were the main band on 80% of the songs. Benefit-concert. Bands were Now Hiring Losers, Zero Tolerance, Dead End Cruisers and the Happy Family Ramones Tribute. Along with the bands, were sold Ramones buttons and raffled off Ramones-videos, T-shirts, custom made glasses etc.. They raised $1537 for a local woman with cancer (that's a lot of money). All in the name of Joey Ramone! One of the organisators was Michael Schmidt.

The idea was to have around 10 bands do 3 Ramones covers each. Some of the bands who played were The Burnouts (w/ Piet from Hot Hod Moses on drums), Hellroute 16, President Fetch, Powergrill, On Trial and Heatfarm. It was a very good night with 400-500 guests who all had a good time while respecting the great Joey Ramone. The show was free to attend.

Tribute night started at midnight on May 18th, 2001, there was two rooms. The first one had a big stage with a large screen. Bands played there. The second room had a screen only. They did show Joey's stuff here. The following bands were told to play: Senzabenza (they made a record with Joey, they retired two years ago but does a re-union for this event), Crummy Stuff, Retarded, Stinking Polecats, Loco live, B.B.C., Berenice's Beach, Maradonas.

There was members of Teenage Head (Frank + Gord), Forgotten Rebels (Mike), Slander/Junkhouse (Ray), Trouble Boys (Mike), Orphans (3 of them - Dave played bass), CJ Sleez (Carmen), Vapids (Jimmy), Spoiled Rotten (all 3), Buckshot Bebee and a couple of others. Mostly Ramones songs, although some bands did a few of their own.

Hilly Kristal and Joey's brother Mickey Leigh and other people were doing this memorial concert for a Joey Ramone memorial concert. Night was titled Remembering Joey: A Brother's Tribute by Mickey Leigh. MC'd by Handsome Dick Manitoba and George Tabb. Admission was free.
Mickey hosted the event and performed four of his favorite songs written by Joey: I Remember You, I Want You Around, Danny Says and Questioningly. His band included longtime Ramones producer Daniel Rey, Dictators guitarist and recent Joey Ramone collaborator Andy Shernoff, and drummer Pat Carpenter, from Leigh's band, Stop. The Stitches, a New York punk band also performed a few Ramones songs.

1) There was also some Joey-tributes in Ne LuuPojat Surf -gig on April 28, 2001. Date was confirmed already before king passed away. Line-up had members from 3 legendary "Ramones-influenced" band: Ne Luumäet, Pojat and Luonteri Surf.
After songs Onnellinen Perhe (name means We're A Happy Family) and Eka Kerta Pojat singer-guitarist Miika asked people to listen, cause he wanted to try to get total silence, and total silence was successful, in a memory of Joey Ramone. Then started Sheena Is A Punk Rocker, followed by Rockaway Beach and Blitzkrieg Bop.
